Support Animals
Llamas Our llama herd provides protection for our calves from coyotes, wild dogs, and other threats to the cattle herd. Additionally, they are sheared each spring for fiber-wool (and to help keep them cool) and their communal dung piles are harvested for high-nitrogen, no-burn fertilizer.

Cattle
Aberdeen Angus Decedents of the original breed of Angus cattle from Aberdeen Scotland; the cows in our cattle herd are currently comprised of Aberdeen (75%+)-US Angus crosses with our selected bulls being 100% Aberdeen.

Other Cattle
Annabelle Ellie
Annabelle is our first milk cow; she is a Jersey(dairy)-Limousine(beef) cross. She produces great babies in addition to good milk. Ellie is our second milk cow; she is a Jersey(dairy)-Angus(beef) cross. She is Clara's cow.

Poultry
Egg Chickens We raise 4 breeds of "egg laying" chickens (meaning, they are bred for and produce more eggs than "meat" chickens). These 4 different breeds produce our colorful baskets/cartons of eggs, as each breed lays a different color of egg.

Turkey
Red Bourbons, Royal Palms, and Grey Slates are all considered to be "heritage turkey" and trace their lineage back to the original domesticated turkeys. Cross-breeding them actually produces the "wild" color of turkey. Our turkey can still free range, fly, and act like regular turkeys (your store bought turkey live their entire life in a building and can not survive outside)
